Station Prototypes
On April 5, 2008, the Florida Department of Transportation gave Federal Transit Administrator James Simpson a tour of the proposed Central Florida Commuter Rail Transit Corridor. Following the tour, Administrator Simpson met with local officials from each of the 17 jurisdictions hosting station stops. Right-of-Way
The Florida Department of Transportation is starting to acquire right-of-way for the Central Florida Commuter Rail project. The department’s current focus is to purchase land needed for parking lots at station stops included in the initial operating segment of the project, from Fort Florida Road in DeBary south to Sand Lake Road in Orange County. No land acquisition is currently contemplated for station stops that do not include parking lots.
